1.5 - 2.0 You describe yourself as a beginner. You know how to serve and hit volleys but you haven’t improved any tennis game consistency. You hopefully have figured how to keep track of score. You know the game of tennis and want to meet up with other people who have the same passion.
2.5 Needs on-court experience. Has obvious tennis stroke failings but is familiar with basic locations for singles and doubles play. 2.5 Learning to judge where the ball is going although tennis court coverage is less than adequate. Can sustain a little rally of weak pace with other players of the same skill level.
3.0 Fairly consistent when hitting medium-paced strokes, but isn’t comfortable with all strokes and misses execution when trying for guiding control, depth or might.
Admin Comments: Skilled skill level, About 20% of the players are in this skill level
3.25 You’re in-between 3.0 and 3.5 Skill grade.
Admin Comments: Competitive2 Level, This level shows up when the program’s league is big enough and we have plenty returning players. The addition of this skill level allows the league to fine tune the skill levels and the matches tend to be closer. Playoff qualifiers participate in the Competitive playoffs.
3.5 Has achieved improved stroke dependability with leading control on moderate tennis shots, but still lacks depth and diversity. Starting to present more aggressive net play, has improved court coverage and is developing teamwork in doubles.
3.75 You’re in-between 3.5 and 4.0 Skill rating.
4.0 Has dependable strokes, including directional control and depth on both forehand and backhand sides on average shots, plus the ability to use lobs, overheads, approach strokes and volleys with some success. From Time to Time pulls errors when serving. Rallies may be lost due to impatience.
Admin Comments: Advanced1 division, About 20% of the tennis players are in this division. Rusty players should start off in the Competitive skill level first. Scores are closely monitored by the admin staff for Purity of Competition Rules.
4.5 Masters the use of power and spins and beginning to handle pace, has solid footwork, can control depth of shots and is beginning to vary game plan according to opponents. Can hit first serves with power and accuracy and place the second serve. Tends to over hit on difficult tennis shots.
