You Must Get this! Some Guidelines Relating to Sydney Botox Clinics
Botulinum therapy (shortened to B.tox) is now fashionable amongst trendy Sydney society in fact it is fast becoming an essential part of grooming for those in the Harbour City.
But I never fail to be astonished when I listen to the rumours surrounding the simple procedure.
I have included below a selection of the more popular stories frequently encountered at Star Cosmetic Medicine located in Pyrmont, Sydney.
Error # 1: My facial muscles will stiffen up!
Under the skin of the face are approximately 60 muscles. These usually work harmoniously, but over a period of time fine lines may begin to appear. Too great a dose of B.tox have the effect of the facial muscles appearing over relaxed. The amount injected by most doctors result in you seeming well rested, yet you will always keep your facial expression.

So by using conservative quantities of the wrinkle injection in exactly the right spot facial expression is maintained whilst any lines are minimised.
Error # 2: B.tox is toxic!
This to a small extent is true. Its pharmaceutical name is Botulinum Toxin Type A. In very large quantities it can loosen muscles that you do not want loosened or may even cause illness.
Pharmacists have a well known phrase that states ‘everything is a poison - it all depends on the dose’. All medications in a large amount will make you ill. In fact water can be a poison if you take too much.
Error # 3: It will hurt!
The hypodermic needles we use at Star Cosmetic Medicine have a diameter smaller than a human hair. Quite a few patients state that the shots are not worse than getting bitten by a mosquito. It is certainly less sore than something like a vaccination.
Error # 4: B.tox will deaden the sensation in my face!
Totally incorrect. Botulinum medicine works on the junction between the nerve and the facial muscle, not sensate nerves. B.tox only affects the relaxation of muscular tissues.
Error # 5. Once you begin B.tox you need to keep getting it or you might age quicker than ever!
Again this is just false.
Botox is believed to be effective for upwards of three months. Any further injections after the initial one should last a little longer. Eventually as muscle strength returns to normal - the lines will slowly reform. But they will certainly be no more noticeable than when you began.
In fact the lines should be be less pronounced than if you hadn’t had B.tox - even if you don’t persevere with the injections. Primarily because your facial muscles and skin have had a rest during the treatment.
